I would stay away from Acer, mine died after 3 months. I was doing some windows updates. In the middle it shut down, and would not turn back on. Ended up sending it to the Acer service center down in Texas. The laptop was at the service center for 1 1/2 months. The motherboard was not in stock. I bought another Acer laptop for the wife and the motherboard craped out in that one too. Mine was AMID based and the wife's was Intel based. I am guessing production problems, and or chipset related. Stay away from Dell, they are a real pain in the arse to recover when the OS crashes. Reloading the OS from the recovery disks half of the drivers are always missing. Trying to find the missing drivers on the Dell site just plain sucks.
