Advice please

Recently been having trouble with explorer7, kept telling me cant open web page, but it did, then same problem started on Firefox as well. Yesterday crashed after 5 mins on Firefox.
First couple of restarts stopped after nearly loading Windows, after that, nothing. No safe mode/anything. Remembering answers to other peoples enquiries I opened case up, tried with one stick ram (1gb each), nothing. Tried swopping ram stick, still using one only, and it fired up, and now SEEMS OK.
Only fitted new ram about 6 weeks ago, it says brand is CELENADE. Question is, are first IE7 and FF problems related to ram, or have I got two problems ???? And is it reasonable to send ram back for exchange ???? Thanks.

If IE and FF both have problems I would assume you have a system problem, it may just be hardware(ram) but it can be aggrevated by malware or software conflicts.

Even a bios setting related to the ram, are you running the newest bios on your computer?

Thanks Chewey. Strangly enough FF and Ie problems have now gone away, using only the one remaining 1GB stick of ram, its also quicker ((online). Bios is original, Phoenix Award v 6.00 pg dated 03/09/05. Last time I checked they wanted too much to update, and unclear if it was needed.

All my little crashing problems wiped out all my user names, and passwords, and I noticed that while PC was trying to fire up the CPU fan was going extremely fast, must have been treble normal speed.

Cant send dud stick back as suppliers (E Buyer.com) have gone for good. Dont want to buy another pair. I have an odd 256 stck of same type spare, worth putting it in with the 1GB or not ??? Thanks......

it was 3 years ago and the matched 256's were sold out, I gambled and bought 2 singly

the matched 512's were 120$ for a pair, I wished I had bought 4 sticks @26

Hey old man tony. Just last month, one Aussie dollar = about 98 US cents (i.e. about the same). The US has had a strong resurgence lately though.

And hard cheese for your girl Emma Pooley in the women's time trial - she rode a great race to come 2nd but the yank just pipped her at the end.

according to one manufacturer low voltage rails is the leading cause of premature ram failure
