Or there will not be an option for the slower speed.

Anytime one of you can measure a 300MB/s transfer between 2 sata hard drives please post the results

Or even a 4.3 gig file in 15 seconds or less

I noticed my system is quicker. Now I don't know whether it's because I'm just using the 250 gig hd alone w/a 50 gig system part. and the rest for data, or it's because I removed the jumper on the hd. Don't matter as long as it's more efficient/faster.

@Chewy: 4.3 gig file of plain data or video work? If burning video file as data I can maybe see that type of speed.

@atifsh: 3.7 gb of what also?

            Thnx.

some raid stripes are hitting over 100 MB/s sustained

most new drives do well to get 80MB/s

This is over my head right now. I'll read up on raid stripes and the whole speed thing associated w/the 3 gb sata hds. Only thing I did read where they actually saw a difference in several areas was where the hd was connected to some server or something like that and they were able to isolate some different tests and compare the end results as far as speed improvement.

                  that was an ISO.
have to go in deep but i think vista copies faster with one file then say 100 files of same size. meaning 1 file of 3 gb will copy faster then 100 files of 3 gb.

well my system's buzzing as far as access to sw. I missed the word copy though. I was thinking burning as I've been burning like crazy lately. would of been something if you could burn a 3.7 gb or 4.3 ISO like chewy said in 8 secs.
