Anyone own a wireless media extender

If so, please comment on your experience. I am tossing around the idea of getting one.

not exactly same, but im using my 160n router as wireless repeater to extend the wifi range... enabled vista function to share media thus can use everything on my main pc on to the laptops in other rooms. just the tv is what i cant see, nor tried it.
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

jmet, are you referring to Windows Media Center Extender devices like the ones shown here?

I'm not too familiar with non Xbox versions of these devices, but they will usually come with UPnP support too which is a bit more useful, as there are more devices, like external HDDs, that can act as UPnP servers (or on the PC using TVersity). You won't get the nice interface as you would with using the Extender functionality, but you also won't need to have WMC running or be limited by WMC's set of playable files. Linksys makes nice ones (Extenders with UPnP support).
