Does anybody else notice that the following link loads slowly in FF? (appears to hang, but wait a few minutes and it loads on my computer - same thing happens in IE)

It works well on my other computer as well (IE 7 + FF 2). Looks like there's something wrong with this one, as I've been having trouble with other hanging pages too (possibly also having flash enabled content), and it's been generally sluggish. I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed and ran a full scan, I also ran AdAware and Spybot S&D, nothing came up.
Speaking of my other computer, it's acting up with BSODs all the time. Ran memtest+ and it looks like the memory has gone bad.
Looks like I'm not having any luck with the computers these past few weeks, or that (nearly) 5 years is too long between getting a new computer.Comment

I'm trying hard to justify spending on a new computer, but there's no app that I really need the extra speed for at the moment. Yes, video encoding could be faster (a lot faster!), and Folding@Home could be more productive, but that's the only two reasons I can think of.
Well the fact that both computers seem to be broken might be a reason now as well I suppose.Comment

I think I've found the problem. I shut off Kaspersky and the link is as quick as it used to be, both IE and FF.
Will check KIS settings to see what could be causing it ...Comment

To be fair, it took mine a bit to close, too.
But, seems you have found your problem.

Actually, KIS might not be the problem.
Everything now works for me with KIS running, including all past issues of the magazine. But on the link in the first post, if I flick past the 2nd or 3rd page, then it gets stuck, so perhaps there was just something wrong with that particular issue.
I also ran Registry Mechanic yesterday and it seems to have helped a bit with the sluggish computer problem as well, so maybe it was more that than KIS.
Thanks everyone for helping me diagnose this problem. Now onto my other problem (see other thread)Comment
