I have Office 2007 and the size of the software is 2.12GB and I just got Office 2008 but it's only 558.23MB. It has the same items in it but why is the disc size so much smaller?
I've used Office 2007 plenty at school and at the library, and I just can't stand it. I refuse to go any "newer" than 2000. (2003, as I said, was tolerable... but with the exception of PowerPoint there really wasn't any new features so it's not worth using)
I'll give another nod for Open Office. I don't use it often because I really have no need for what it offers, or any other suite of type TBH, but when I do need it I don't have any problems. Paint.net is another great free app to substitute for the more pricey offerings from PhotoShop.
"I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. It's not fair to you and no challenge for us."
GIMP is another great alternative to Photoshop. The only complaint is how long it takes to load (30 seconds or more for me...)
Gimp kind of reminds me of unix vi editor. If I kept using it I'd become adept at doing lots of massive editing really efficiently. But the UI feels foreign at first to a Windows user.
I have office 2007/2008 and 2003 and I find that 07/08 is harder to navigate.
I can operate these versions but I asked my main question at first because I wondered why the 2008 version is so much smaller. There was word that I might have the MAC version but I don't know because I was given a burnt copy ages ago and when I e-mailed my friend to ask her she hasn't replied. She did say she was going away for a bit but I thought she would still check her e-mails while being away unless her planned fun got the better of her. I don't know if mine is the PC or MAC version. I saw files and folders that a PC has with software. I don't know about a MAC copy because I've never used a MAC computer.
I hope this copy version that I mentioned hasn't broken a rule.
