    Installation Program

I was trying to uninstall Adobe Reader version 8.1.3. Tried ad remove programs that did not work. Checked Adobe's web site had no unistallation program. The reason I was removing the program, it would not let me print. I was trying to print a document on my wireless printer. So I wanted to upgrade to Adobe Reader version 9. I found a neat program by Microsoft, called windows install clean up. The program worked out verly nicely, so if you run in to a program that will not uninstall try the program above.

Yea, and it removes everything except Microsoft hidden products, like remains you find in your computer after every Microsoft update.

You best bet, is to remove every location you are aware of, and them put the registry cleaners to work.

    Locations like:

    add/remove programs
program files located on the hard drive
    temp files
    internet temp files
    windows prefetch files
    ALL LOCATIONS in the registry

Before you remove any files change your computer to show all hidden files.

Here are two registry cleaners programs I could not live without.
    RegistryFix7
    JV16 power tools

Learn how to use REGEDIT to manually remove some of the hidden registry entries.

Three weeks ago, I tested a different registry cleaner and removed over 1267 hidden entries I thought I removed years ago. The old computer really flies now.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the one you tested?

I use to work for the geeksquad, so I am very familiar with registry edit and use it quite often. I always remove any all instances of the program that I can find. I haven't killed a computer yet when messing around in the registry.

          registryFix7.0

I have the un-registered version (freeware) and with 1267 bad entries it took me approximately 6 days to clean -out the registry manually using RUN/REGEDIT.

The registered version if I remember correctly was $32. and probably would have taken 10 to 15 minutes automatically.

But since I am real CHEAP and retired it did not bother me to spend 6 days to soup-up the real old computer.

no real help concerning your uninstall-issues but foxitreader can be a good alternative when it comes to pdf reader

I was thinking about that also. If I could not get the new version of adobe reader to load. I was going to down load foxit. I am still think about doing that any ways. I can use it to fill out pdf when neatness counts. My writing is very messy like a doctor's hand writing.

                Useful cleaners:
                • CCleaner
                • Registry Mechanic (not freeware)
                • jv16PowerTools (used to be freeware)
                • Glary Utilities

Please try Adobe CS3 Clean Script which helps completely remove Adobe CS3 programs including Adobe Acrobat 8. After that, you can reinstall them again. Please check the link below:

                      Hey guys,

Q1: Are these "Registry Cleaners" dummy proof?

I tend to shy away from Registry Cleaner since I am concerned with deleting something incorrectly.

Q2: Any of these work with Vista X64? or even X32?

                      G!
