    Router problem

I recently installed a Netgear N router it was working fine, then I was getting no reception, hooked up an older G Netgear router I had ,still no reception, also tried different adapters, nothing, one of my computers is a wireless laptop that doesn't get reception, I have been using routers for some time an never had this problem, any ideas? Any possibility of a computer glitch , have Vista as OS.

does a computer get online when connected directly to the modem?

can you see other computers networked thru the routers

A friend called his ISP last week, they pinged his modem and decided his problem was on his end with his router

After explaining to me I told him to call them back, they replaced his business's modem

    It was bad

It's all just a process of elimination

sometimes they just have to reset your account

I have been using netgear routers and laptop card. I have no problems with them Connect to the router through the LAN connection and with the command prompt do a ipconfig/all you should see the computer ip information and also the router info. If you are not seeing the info the router could be bad.
