AMD has new CPU's coming out next year. Including a new socket am3 CPU. I wonder who will be the first motherboard manufacturer to have the new board released.

If I am reading this article right,, it seems you will not need a new board for the AM3.

So the AM3 will work on the AM2+ motherboard, but since the AM2 CPU has 2 more pins which is 940 it will not work on the AM3 motherboards. Wonder what the new AM3 motherboards will cost. I do like that the AM3 motherboards can use either DDR2 or DDR3memory. But you can not mix the memory types.
