    Solid State SATA Hard Drive

OCZ Technology 128GB Core Series SATA II 2.5" SSD ( OCZSSD2-1C128G ) The price for this hard drive is $457.99. Still too expensive and still too small.

That Is when I will probably build a new system and use the solid state drive. The only thing I am wondering about is what is the MTBF.

From what I’ve read the longevity of SSD flash chips are getting better all the time thou the write speed still doesn’t compare to disk base drive. In my opinion, manufacturers are gouging when it comes to the price of the SSD drives and will continue to do so until the market is flooded with them and disk based drives are considered old school.
The one nice thing about the SSD is that they can withstand a 1,500g blow. A laptop would be in pieces in far less than that.
Kind of like having a black box in the tail end of your laptop. LOL

at this moment ssd technology is very up / down some make good speeds but poor quality components, if components are good speed sucks, some makes highend ssd's for test purposes that are good in both but prices are stupid.
