    IE 8 | Firefox 3.0.8

ok iv seen many ppl complaining bout ie8 these days, most problems im assuming are either of that S&D imunize or the system itself. many doesnt even know or try to use compatibility mode and then say ie8 doesnt even open websites.

im using both for some time and i really use both have fixed favorites on firfox that load auto when i start it. then few sites if i browse i use ie8. but recently iv having 2 problms...

since iv updated 3.0.8 few website just dont load, i tried those in ie8 they work, i tried them in ie8 compatibility mode and they dont work. so im guessing websites are doing something to favour ie8.. (bink...)

yesterday i couldnt even login gmail using firefox, but ie8 loged in fine. iv tried several times and same results. though i was having problems looking at emails itself.

update: still cant login using firefox.
update2: ie8 does same. both loged in after long wait but still cant browse mails.

oh im using windows 7 bythe way seperate ie8 for vista / xp may be different.

perhaps time to reset router/ modem

update 3: nope restarting every device .. still same , guess gmail having issues.

Nope. No issues here with either FF 3.0.8 or IE8. In FF I am using GMail Notifier add on. No problem with that either. But I am on Win XP SP3.

No issues here either. Updated to FF 3.0.8 and I use Gmail often. Running XP SP3. (Haven't touched IE8 and likely won't,lol)

So far 3.08 and 3.1 beta 3 both have worked normally for me. Other than turning my favicons to blue dots the only site I noticed trouble with Minefield is Hotmail. The mouse cursor would change on hover for links, but no matter how often I clicked, no reaction. The same page worked in Opera 3, FF 3.08 FF 2.x and FF 3.1 Beta 3, so must be something to do with Minefield, maybe script 'jit' or something? I dunno'.

Without using any FasterFox Minefield seems really quick. Be nice when they get all the bugs out. So far though FF 3.1 beta 3 seems plenty stable enough to use as main browser. Seems a tad quicker loading pages than 3.08.

No problems here, using both FF & IE8 on Windows 7.

Glutton for punishment that I am, I just put on April 2 build of Minefield. The links that wouldn't click in Hotmail work now. Hopefully I'll be able to keep using it cuz it seems like once the web server decides to give you the pages, bang!! It's loaded with no FasterFox enabled. Keeping fingers crossed.

edit: looks like the link click fix may be due to latest NoScript update. That seems to have fixed it up.

I ran across a really nice looking FF theme. Works in Minefield too.
It has super small icons for folders. Great if you have a bunch of folders on
                  your bookmarks toolbar.

                    WOW, Thanks Miles
I normally avoid using themes in foxfire but this one is really good!
I'll have to try this one out with Linux and see what it looks likes.

I use Gmail and I sometimes get problems but not logging in problems. I've only had the odd problem where the server is slow there only and my e-mails take ages to send or I wait ages for an e-mail to open. Sometimes when I open an e-mail my IE7 closes and I have to load it back in and continue what I'm doing. Sometimes where my contacts are, I see something about a server error being annonced and then things are normal again. Have you tried through MSN Browser?
