ReOpen 3.5 Now middle mouse click on empty desktop or in an explorer window will bring up the window. This can be disabled by setting UseMiddleMouseButton=0 in ReOpen.ini file.

Note, the first time you run v. 3.5 then quit the program, the .ini file will have the new setting set to 1. Just change the 1 to 0 and save the .ini file to disable. The option is enabled by default.

edit: now you can toggle middle mouse button click option via Tray Menu.

Using FC 3.9 - wonder why it is no longer caching folders? Have you come across this before? How to fix? Here is my INI file.

That's weird. Are you running 3.9.0.2 ?? I just tried it again in Vista64 and it works as usual. Are you running XP? If the About shows anything earlier than 3.9.0.2 try downloading the latest. It could be you downloaded in between fixes as I was uploading. Afaik there's no bugs with the version that's on my page now. If it is 3.9.0.2 post again and I'll look into it more. I use ReOpen myself now and only do a few trials of FolderCache when I update. It's possible something got by me. I usually have my max folders set to 24. With a larger setting maybe an array got corrupted or something of that nature.

Please let me know what you find.

edit: I can't try it in XP right now because I'm in the middle of a 5 hour video conversion in Windows7 on that machine. I'll try it later tonight. The way XP has the path string in the Window and how Vista/W7 does it are different. I do 2 different substring searches in the window text to try to get the folder path. It's possible the one on the XP side got broken. I'll know later tonight when I can reboot.

I haven't received any other reports of it not working. But the thing that will break it is if in Folder Options View settings, if "display full path in title bar" or "display full path in address bar" is disabled. It reads that string to tell what the folder is.

edit: I will update the Readme for both FolderCache and ReOpen to include a note for this setting. I thought I had already done so. But that was an older program that used the same function.

edit2: Here's the note I added to the readme files in case you don't feel like downloading. (The zip files on my site have already been updated.)

For the automatic monitor to work, Explorer Folder Options View Settings
should have "Display the full path in the Title Bar" and, if available,
"Display the full path in the Address Bar" checked. Also in XP make
sure under View Toolbars that Address Bar is enabled. After setting these
options, remember to push the "Apply To All Folders" button.

I am running 3.9.0.2 under XPsp3. Seems OK now.

Sure thing. I'm glad you pointed it out so I could fix the readme. I've updated and uploaded for similar utilities for so long I guess I saw that note in the readme in my mind even when it wasn't there in the text.

I updated both FolderCache and ReOpen to fix a minor ListBox focus glitch. If you shifted focus to a ListBox by clicking the mouse to select an item not first in the list, the first item was selected also, a side-effect of selecting the first item when tabbing into the list. Now it should only select the top item when you actually use the tab key to tab into the ListBox. Just a minor glitch but it could be annoying.

Les, since you are my main customer for FolderCache, I'm wondering your preference. I fixed ReOpen to my liking so that when I tab out of a ListBox, the selections are cleared. I haven't fixed FolderCache yet. If you like it the way it is, I'll probably leave it alone though.

I propagated the same update to FolderCache. Seems like it should be standard ListBox behavior to clear selects on tab out. It's on my site for download. The update should show up on Softpedia in a day or 2.

On ToDo list. For now just use Donate then hit Hotkey in the nav panel on the Donate page.

I'll probably add a button to About Box instead of a hot link. Just easier.

Either that or maybe I'll investigate a "check for update" button.

Ok, I added "Visit Hotkey Page" to the Tray Menu. Just easier than repositioning buttons on about dialog. That's all by hand on that thing.

FolderCache, ReOpen and Selector regression fix

FolderCache, ReOpen and Selector regression fix. The new version of AutoIt3 changed the way program shutdown functions are called. I fixed a bug introduced in the previous updates where running a 2nd instance of the program would cause it to overwrite the data file(s) to zero length on exit. Since it was the 2nd instance, it quit before reading in the data, and the exit function auto saved the data, which had zero content.

This should be squared away now.

Please update to the latest version for any of these 3 programs you are using.
