Advice please

Have fitted new HD to sons PC, trying to load XP media edition (GENUINE). All goes well untill EULA. Press F8 as instructed,nothing happens.
All other keyboard commends seem OK. Is it me, a dodgy keyboard or other ???
Have done this job several times with no problems.

Tried attaching a new keyboard?

My F12 doesn't work and I went crazy reporting problems to developers until I realised this simple fact.

In addition to what blu said; I have had probs. trying to use a USB keyboard when installing, but I don't believe that is your prob., if the other keys are working.

You can try looking up the code for 'F8' key. If it's a numeric 256 or less you might be able to hold down the Alt key, press the numbers on the numpad, release the Alt key to enter it. I forget what F8 is so I don't know if it will work or not.

At least that trick used to work in the old days. Don't know if it's built in to keyboard bios code or not. Doesn't cost anything to try it.
