was thinking of a LINKSYS WRT160NL Wireless-N Broadband unit although it is not dual band.
I'm running 64 bit vista on my laptop and some units don't support that OS as of yet I am told.
maybe the cheaper 30.00 ones I assume.
On thing is that the laptop must have a dual band card installed also to be able to take advange of a dual band wireless router. The router that I bought was $169, but that was because it has the modem included with the wireless router. I have a HP with Vista 64 bit soon to be windows 7. The linksys appears to be a decent router.

I have a free upgrade to 64 bit Windows 7 and since I just got the laptop with Vista OS , I have no exspirience using it yet as I have had XP for past few years..
yeah, I;m one of the XP keepers.
So, with Windows 7 around the corner it appears that Vista may end up being the bastard child I have but never got to know if I upgrade next month.
I almost NEVER jump on a new Microsoft OS's for at least 6months to a year but with a brand new 64 bit machine here I think I should do it justice by going for it.
Spend the learning curve time with Win 7 instead of Vista is what I amthinking would be logical??
lol.. all this jabbering and was just going to ask u if you are getting Win 7 when it comes out since you also have the 64 bit Vista. .......
Yes I ordered the upgrade to win 7 64 bit for my HP laptop. Since I have been playing with it on a desktop I have and it has been very stable here. I know that other people have been playing with it also. Maybe they will chime in also.

Yes I would, it is similar to Vista. So I do not think the learning curve will be that bad. It is just knowing where to look for stuff. But you can switch the look to classic and it will look like XP style window.

ok........
thanks again..
ok.. here's a Laptop question:
I have the slot loading optical drive..
how do you eject with no button?
all I can do is go into my E drive, right click, and click on eject..
gotta be another way or keyboard key that I don't see.
I have friends with Laptops that say the opposite..
the tray is fragile and can break easy and would rather have slot load.[ 1 less moving piece of plastic]...
let ya know down the road how my slotter holds up.
I have yet to break the tray style DVD/CD rom drive. I guess that I am careful with using the dive. I am thinking of upgrading to a bluray drive on the HP that I got recently.
