Are you using the most current malwarebytes with a fresh install? (Not update)

Most current was Sept 10, 2009 Version 1.41

Malwarebytes offers real-time antivirus, advanced anti-malware and privacy protection for all your devices. Launched in 2004 as a free virus scan, we still offer a free basic version 20 years later. Learn more.

        Hi folks,

@ Photo_Angel ... you must be visiting some sites that employ Java Scripts ... what happens when you go to a "Funny" site ... the Ads open up and you can NOT stop them ... except to reboot ... the problem with that is you end up Corrupting your "User Profile" and then you have clean that up.

The only thing in your Software list that "Helps" you protect yourself some is Ad-Aware.

Q1: Photo_Angel what is your OS ... XP or Vista ... and what flavor of Vista ... 32-Bit or 64-Bit ?

Q2: Do you have a Firewall?

Q3: What do you use for Antivirus software?

Answer these back ... so we can tell you as a minimum what to have on your PC.

Then we need to figure out if you are Infected!?!? If so, then will guide you to the correct Site for Help!

        G!

I used to get this problem a lot on IE 6. My system wasn't infected or anything, but it usually happens when the system is low on memory. Switching to FF or Chrome solved the problem.

At least upgrade to IE 8, but preferably use one of the other browsers. And of course do the usual malware scans just to make sure there's nothing on your computer.

You also try the MS antivirus program too. I have it running on my laptop and it is working good here. It stopped a couple of nasty virus attack. Was on some of the web sites that are known for that kind of crap, if you know what I mean.
