Anyone Know How To Get Active Desktop Back In Vista

When I use XP I have my background black and use a gif image that changes eye color as my wallpaper.

In XP the active desktop allows that to happen, but in Vista it is gone.

I have not had any luck on the web searching. Does anyone know a workaround?

    Thank You in advance.

I don't know the answer but I bet somebody on this forum does:

edit: even though it says vistax64 there's a lot of 32 bit discussion also.

btw did you ever find a solution? I'm curious because I did see there was a registry mal hack going around with something about Active Desktop No Change or similar. I got it or something like it awhile back and could not delete any files with Explorer. I'm just wondering if it's related or if you found out what was what.

        I searched, but no luck.

        Thanks anyway.

I think it is a thing of the past. I mean to reinstall Windows 8 to see if it is back in that OS.

If I find it I'll post back.
