Compressing Video files

I applaud this site keeping illegal copying of DVD's off of this forum. A dycription program allows a person to copy protected DVD's and I agree that 'Admin' closes this type of post. BUT !!
Closing posts that do nothing more than compress files (shrink) so that they can fit on a 4.7gb DVD, makes no sense to me. Being new, I hope I'm not speaking out of turn. Just an opinion
