    VirtualDub

Why is it when I join two AVI files together with VirtualDub, the software makes some of the files miles bigger than they are supposed to be. One AVI file that I started with is about 14MB and the other is about 600MB and after I saved them together, the both of them edited together saved at about 4.50GB. This only seems to happen with video files that were originally under WMV but I had to convert them to DVD and rip them to AVI. Why do these files come out miles bigger from VirtualDub after I convert them from WMV to DVD and then to AVI?

    Many thanks.

You need to select "Direct Stream Copy" for the video option if you don't intend to re-encode the video (which you probably shouldn't need to).
