    Trouble with slow DVD

Sorry, At 60+ years old, I'm pretty tech-challenged, and new to this so please bear with me.

My DVD player/burner reads really slowly. I spent a few hours hunting the internet and I think my DMA switched to PIO (?).

I read a post from Super Moderator "jmet" titled How to check your DMA status & reset it if necessary. It was posted under Digital Video Forums>General>General Computing.

I followed it step-by-step to the Device Manager, and expanded the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" icon.

    Then, jmet wrote:

"After clicking the plus (+) sign, it should have revealed the "Primary IDE Channel" (red) and "Secondary IDE Channel" (blue)."

But my computer has only one item: "Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller". There are no Primary or Secondary channels. So I can't reset the DMA thing!

Now I'm at a complete loss as to how I should proceed.

    I have Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor. The Processor is: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz and Installed memory (RAM): 12.0GB

I appreciate any help that I can get. If someone can offer a suggestion on how to fix it, or point me in the right direction, to help me get started, I would be grateful.

I saved a screenshot of my computer but can't figure out how to insert it into this post. Sorry.

    Thank you
Working...
