I have to say right up front I do this everytime but why.I can understand for RW's but there is nothing you can do about the rest.
Why Verify After Write

if you use the newest version of imgburn , you can verify the contents of the disc against the iso you have just burned from.
personally i verify everything i burn as it only takes 5 minutes, then i know i can play it in my standaloneComment

Writing a DVD is risky - we have all seen how many coasters have been produced. Sometimes, when a burn is reported as successful, it really is not.
Verify your burns!
You want all your time spent on getting the project to the burn stage to go to waste???

- if you have burned onto a DVD-RW, you might as well play it and see..... erase and Write again, incase of a problem.
- If you have burned a DVD-R and if it doesnt play well, its a coaster...period...you cant rectify it or undo what is a coaster now!!!.
Vefiying does not tell you the cause of the problem.........therefore personally I dont verify any of my burns.Comment

Yeah, I wouldn't verify anything on an RW (except my weekly system backup, which is kept on 2 RWs alternating by weeks). I mean, why bother?
As for an R, that's a different story.

you will see the icons change from disc to hdd , navigate to the folder the iso came from and press the big button .
this can be done at any time after , as long as you still have the iso on your hddLast edited by cornholio7; 12 Dec 2005, 02:08 AM.Comment

This thread has taken on a more ImgBurn quality, so I have moved it here.

I cant remember the last time I verified a write, I see the point as soup said on a RW but on a -/+R I dont see it....
I got 2 coasters in 3 years and hundreds of burns... In fact I remember a topic long time back were cynthia (I think) mentioned that by one of my logs the burns were unplayable... (that was with a Sony DWU10A)
The burns play fine and have always played on all standalones...
I guess my point is... With a failure ratio like that the proof is in the pudding...
My OS backups/increments are performed and verified but thats a whole different pudding all together since I keep them in a network drive (I use Acronis True Image 8 build 937).
So about imgburn I have little to put forward since I used it twice and twice I got a great result...Comment
