Really? Whats so bad about norton? I guess i'm just ignorant when it comes to that stuff. lol. But anyways, i have good news and bad news. The good news is that i turned off the success sounds in imgburn options and imgburn finally showed the "success" window thing. However the bad news: When i clicked ok imgburn still hung. I clicked ok and it did not take me to that first window of imgburn where you select the image to burn and what not. At least i got the success window. Were getting closer! lol. Next time i burn a dvd i'll try your idea Chewy and turn off norton before i burn. Thanks for trying to help me out guys.Comment

It would hang, playsound is called before that box is shown (to play the sound) and then again (with a null value) to stop the sound.
At least I know the cause of the problem now!
So ok, what's so odd about your machine that the 'PlaySound' api is hanging?
What soundcard do you actually have installed?
Can you go into the settings, change the 'Success' sound to one of the default WAV files in c:\windows\media and then hit the little green play button.
See if it plays them then.Comment

Yeah it is able to play the sounds in the windows\media folder just fine. But if i have it on the default error and success sounds that came with imgburn it plays those fine also when i press the green play button in imgburn. The kind of sound card i have is a creative soundblaster live.Comment

Is McAfee safe for virus-scanning? I have that, not sure which version, as my dad got it free from his work (parent company has a partnership with McAfee I guess).CYA Later:

lol well that's just silly then!
Pressing that play button runs the exact same function that's run before the 'Operation Successfully Completed!' box comes up!
Sorry, I'm out of ideas and won't even attempt to figure out why Windows API commands fail!
I've added one more flag to the 'PlaySound' function call now, so let us know if 1.2.0.0 works (when I've released it).Comment
