Img build mode

What function does Img perform in the "build" mode?

It converts your VIDEO_TS folder into an ISO so that Imgburn can burn.

It does more than that. You don't even need the ISO building step. It enables you to burn from the VIDEO_TS folder.

I just wanted to give a simple answer ...as it is, it seems to burn on the fly whilst converting. I love this program.

Blutarch, I'm kinda new at this, so when would you use "write" and when "build"?

You use build mode when you have VIDEO_TS folder and want to burn.

If you already have an ISO (eg from DVD Shrink making one), use write mode.

Blutarch, I have decrypt set for File, not Iso, will Shrink create an Iso? I would like to leave the Img setting the same. which is better to have Iso or video-TS? Sorry if these are dumb questions, trying to learn.

Either file output from DVD Shrink will be fine, there won't be a difference in the final burnt disc. DVD Shrink can create either an ISO or a VIDEO_TS folder. The choice is yours.

Thanks for the reply, I could not see where in Shrink to make the distinction for Iso or Video. Is one better than the other as far as quality?

Both the same quality. An ISO is like a container for your DVD files. Kinda like winzip is to normal files.
