What is wrong?

O.K. I have just used the IMG Burn for the first time. I have had it downloaded / and run on my computer for some time now. But have never used it. I installed the original imgburn then last night run the dvd shrink to Imgburn and upgraded to the newest version. My first disc was run just minutes ago. When I place the disc in another DVD player I get the message Disc Error -- Please eject the disc ---Playback feature may not be available on this disc. What could be wrong?
I then recorded the same again from the files saved on the hard drive. attached is a copy of the img burn log from the second.

This one turned out O.K. I guess I just started playing the disc and it seems to play so far.


In the fourth line it states G:\ (Fat 32) does not support single files > 4 GB

Is this a problem. or what exactly does that mean.
Instead of saving the file to G: I changed it to C:

Looks like your G drive is formated Fat 32. XP is NTFS. Did you install this harddrive from an older machine? Fat 32 (an older file system) won't allow file packets larger then 4GB. This is not a problem. Shrink creates an MDS package of your video files on Fat 32 systems. You can source this folder to burn your files to DVD.

You could also update firmware to 1.06

Try burning at 4x.

the ritek R03's used to be good media, had a few coasters out of my last batch and none burned very good

burn at 4x with them and keep your fingers crossed

bitsetting would be better but you would have to use modified firmware

My external hard drives F: and G: are both Seagate 160 gig hard drives.
They were both set in the FAT32 when I took them out of the box. I have not changed either one to NSTF nor do I even know how. The discs used are MAXELL 8X discs , I guess they are Ritek discs? I thought that they were supposed to be good.

Nothing is wrong. But, burn slower and set the booktype as Chewy says.

Read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning.

Would it be better to change the F: and G: to NSTF or is that even possible. Or does it make any difference where shrink creates a MDS package.

Yes. It's simple and quick. From ytuor desktop, press F1 (help). Type in "convert to NTFS" and follow the very easy instructions. No data can be lost.

Set the booktype? I thought that the 13th line up from the bottom said booktype DVD +R. Does that mean it is set or not?

nec in it's infinite wisdom will not set booktype from dvd+r to dvd-rom with stock firmware

A firmware modifier named liggy hacks their stock firmware so you can.

His partner Dee then tweaks it further, several of us here use their firmware.
