    ImgBurn Lockup

Just last night, my burning softwares and proggies all started acting funky. All the tests I do on my drive come out fine, but when I go to burn anything, stuff locks up. ImgBurn, my faithful steady, gets past "Writing Leadin" after about 10 Minutes(????) and then finally times out at 2% EVERYTIME. Here is the log:

if dma is on, then your burner may be dirty or going out

with 4 optical drives what about your power supply?

have you burned off that spindle of disks before?

I took the drive out today and double checked it. I cleaned it as well just in case. The burner is newer, so I hope it's not going out. I was able to burn a series of CD's today no problem. I only have 2 optical drives. A Mitsumi 56X CD Drive and the Sony DRU-800A. The system recognizes it as BOTH a DVD Drive and DVD-RW drive. My whole setup is newer, and the power supply is a 600W so it shouldnt be an issue. Could it be related to other hardware? I am so lost. here is the total setup:
      - Asus M2R32 MoBo
      - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+
      - 2 GB RAM
      - Mitsumi 56X CD-ROM Drive
      - Sony DRU-800A Drive (MOST RECENTfirmware)
      - Radeon X1600Pro 512MB
      - Seagate 250GB SATA Primary (C
      - Maxtor 300GB SATA Secondary (D
      - Maxtor 300GB SATA Secondary (E

Is the fact that it recognizes so many optical drives a problem or "the" problem?

try the burner as standalone master and disconnect the cd-rom
          what brand power supply?
          that's a lot of hardware

the sony is a liteon 1693 and most of them have died by now if they have a lot of use?

Well it may not be the most expensive Plextor out thee, but it has been a GREAT drive, and it has burned almost a Dozen spools of 100 dics no prob. I always use Sony DVD-R, and burn at 16X. never had a problem till now. I have a Thermaltake W0103RU Power Supply. I am just looking for supprt. What's with the "better find some old medias and burn at 4x"? it's not like I am using some old antiquated junker. this is still one of the top selling Optical Drives out there. I use Brand New, HIGH Quality DVD-R of DVD-RW at all times. I have never touched a Ridata, Memorex, Ritek or any other Generic media. I try ot take care of my burner. I burn a LOT, so that is no point in me Spending $200 on a Plextor or TDK Indi, as they will still wear out like any other drive. ** Chewy: What do you mean by "imgburn has a filter driver load order tool, please post the clipboard"? How do I do this?

thermaltakes are good, I have had several

if you have burned that many disks then I suspect the burner is going out

I just noticed something... In my haste at the store, I bought a spindle of DVD+R Discs. I have never used anything other than DVD-R or DVD-RW Discs. But why would it dislike these discs so much? It was built to use them..

turn off anydvd, keep it from loading at startup

actually your burner should do better with dvd+r's

try a burn at 8x if you ever get that mess cleaned up

Don't forget you have to set the booktype for Dvd+R media to Dvd-Rom.

Well, it still burns CD's just perfect, but still having problems even after all the changes. If the drive IS toast, any recommendations on a replacement?
