    Incompatible format?

Ok I thought I had this figured out but I dunno what's wrong. I tried at different speeds and nothing seems to help. Any help that I could get would be great. The Error I got was

I was able to successfully burn two of this same type of disc prior to this that worked perfectly, but the 6 attempts after all resulted in this. Is there anything on my part I could do to fix this?

      DVD-R (Disc ID: MJC ME)

What brand of disk's are those?

I am suspecting your media is inconsistent.

I would try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden

The disc brand is JVC. Thanks for the info I was gonna get Verbatim but didn't want to waste the money if it was gonna give me the same error. I just thought it was weird that two of that brand worked but none others did.

The "trick" I use when I don't know yet what media works best in a PC is to try a 5 pack and keep changing brands until one works consistently. Then get DVDInfo Pro and see who really makes it. Then you can buy by the spindle online and get a reasonable price even for name brands.

              Hi reijekt,

Your problem is dual ... from my research it shows your Burner is not the Hottest ... and like the others said your Media is also ... so, so.

I notice you even burned at 4x speed and that still no go ...

Q1: Have you been able to burn any DVDs with this Burner?

Q2: This is a laptop DVD Burner or desktop?

              Thanks,

              G!

Yeah I've burned DVD's. Like I said I burned two backups on this burner with the same media. After those two it just didn't want to burn to that type anymore. And yeah it's a laptop. I switched to HP discs and it seems to work a lot more often now. I plan on picking up verbatim soon though.
