Developers focus more on Xbox 360 than PS3

Another example is from newcomer Red Planet, LLC, the makers of the upcoming Lost Colony MMORPG. While the game is already slated for both PC and Mac, the company made a decision to port the game to Xbox 360 first before focusing on the PS3. A spokesperson from Red Planet said that it was for Vista reasons, not console.

Microsoft has been very clever in the way they market Vista and the Xbox 360, in particular the "Games for Windows" moniker, but it's the behind the scenes stuff that is more interesting. I'm sure Microsoft has provided lots of support (not just money) in terms of porting games between PC and Xbox 360 (which is already naturally easier than PC <-> PS3), and it's this advantage that the PS3 can never achieve.

The recently released Bioshock is another such example, where Microsoft has probably pumped money into the project to get Xbox 360 eclusivity (for a time period at least), and possibly supported the porting of PC/Xbox 360 versions. The delay to GTA IV couldn't have come at a worse time for the PS3, because this is one game that will drive sales (even though the Xbox 360 version is "better", the PS3 needs a game of this stature).
