    AMD quad core HP Media Center PCs emerge

    I've been waiting for the AMD Quad Core HP Media Center PCs to show up.
    Looks like they're just about ready to ship according to this aritcle:

        From the articles I've seen so far(which is only a couple) it seems like it's not ready for prime time. Guess until/if it's perfected the Intel machine is worth the extra $$ (at least for us "take it out of the box and plug it in" customers.)

        It will be interesting to read some customer reviews when these PCs hit the shelves.

          the question for me is not whether intel Q are better atm but how long it'll take to see prices drop for phenoms, how well application will make use of multicores and will my existing mainboard be able to run a phenom or not

          for the time being i have no intention to swap my x2 6000+ ee

              it does at 750

              btw: my 6000+ is the EE version, which is not listed in your link, chewy

              i did not want a TDP of 125w - my ee has 89w

                      it's the highest clocked EE cpu i could find and it is said to not be available for too long so i decided to exchange my 4200+ EE for this one
