    Verizon rejects hollywood monitoring plan.

    Way to go Verizon..
about time someone stood up to MPAA.....

Unlike AT&T, Verizon won’t monitor its network to block unauthorized copying. That would violate customer privacy, it says, and would be expensive too.

have had verizon dsl for about 5 years. I haven't had any problems with it. I have their 3mg (fastest available here). Hopefully fiber optics will be available soon.

            yes..
approx 4x faster. up and down speeds.

I had the standard DSL for past 2 yrs and just upgraded to 3k.

Got a good deal with verizon just cause I asked over phone if any high speed specials. USA -Pennsylvania
was paying 14.99 for past 2 yrs and they said 10.00 more per month..

is the 3mg notably faster than the regular dsl ?

as raggo stated it is faster. my brother has the lower speed IIRC 768 or 784k and his dl is usually around 80-90k. if I dl from the same site I usually get around 350k. I did try a 3 month special from the cable co. that was stated as 5mg dl. with that I got around
                550k dl speed.

If you go with dsl make sure to tell verizon you want the wireless router sent to you and not the regular router. this way you can use a wireless laptop or whatever. I used the wireless router to network my laptop and main pc.

no i'm not. the tech at verizon asked me if i wanted to hook it up and i said no cause i figured that would take more space on my hd. is outlook the way 2 go w/verizon?

also i noticed that the regular dsl doesn't have the save to address book feature that usually comes near the e-mail heading. i have to manually put in the addresses that i want. is that the way it is w/768 dsl, or is there an option to add the address book to the incoming mail header?

outlook express comes with windows. I set it up with my user name and password (real easy).
in outlook if you want to save a sent email to your address book right click on the sender> click "add sender to address book".
the address name will be saved in the lower right window named "Contacts"

I looked in the "Programs" folder and it states outlook only uses 4.12mg.

thnx tiger. it's done. had this since i bought my pc. never thought about using it, or knew what it was about. pretty cool, and it is faster. links work great also.

Btw I also reconfigured the windows so I could read my messages easier. There's also Thunderbird from Firefox that many say is good and probably better. This'll do for now.
