Playing catch-up with a series of price drops on HD DVD players from Toshiba, Microsoft has shaved another $50 off the MSRP for its Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on.
$130 for the drive (which works on PCs, so a quick way to experiment with HD content if you've got the other hardware required for playback), plus 6 free movies (King Kong in the box, 5 by redemption). It's a steal even if you don't have a Xbox 360. The drive has been seen on Amazon for $80, but their current pricing seems to still be using the old RRP, so wait a while before buying.
