Microsoft is scheduled to stop selling its Windows XP operating system to retailers and major computer makers today, despite protests from Vista haters.

In an interview with Ina Fried of Cnet's News.com, Steven Sinofsky described the Windows 7 kernel as a further evolution of the Windows Server 2008 kernel, itself an evolution of the Windows Vista kernel.

I have two XP Pro CDs, one of which is installed on this computer, the other isn't being used at all. You think if I wait a few years, I could get a decent amount for it?

Yeah, Micro Center still sells a bunch with XP.

Doesn't Dell do it via custom order as well? Or maybe not anymore since XP is discontinued now?
