He make all that money, and says that the disks are too expensive. I did not think that the disks were still that expensive.

The in store prices are insane! I was at Target the other day, they had a movie "marked down" from $34.99 to $29.99
Same disc is $18.99 on Amazon. Jeez.

Thats why I only shop online. In store prices are ridiculous. If people haven't figured that out by now, then that's their own fault. They really need to get Amazon Prime if they want it nice and speedy... $3.95 for one day shipping and free two day shipping.$79 a year for Prime is a good price for that kind of service

Blank Blu-ray disks at discount warehouse prices, are less than $5.00 each for BD-R 25gb 4X burn rate white label for inkjet printer.

If that too much put the homemade compliant Blu-ray structure on BD-5 and/or BD-9.

          DVD-5/BD-5 (4.7gb)
          DVD-9/BD-9 (8.5gb)

          Optical Quantum
          white inkjet 4x
          25gb blank Blu-ray disks
          part number BDR030-00002

          Lots of 25 $4.59 each
          larger lots even cheaper

Are in-store DVD prices the same level of ridiculous, or is it just Blu-ray?

Here in Australia, Blu-ray pricing online and offline are fairly consistent. In fact, many of the more popular online stores are also offline stores and they do price matching of everything they have online. In-store Blu-ray prices have dropped from $44.95 for almost all titles to around $34.95 for many (not new releases, or not hit releases), with some at $24.95. This is pretty good considering the Australian dollar has dropped by quite a bit, but it's still up against the UK pound and I think that's where the savings are coming from (both Aus and UK are region B).

Some of the price drops have been forced through by retailers, and I think that's probably what's missing in the US, is the retailer's enthusiasm for the format and their willingness to argue for the best price or to lower their margins.

Nah, DVD prices are $15-20 at most stores.

              It's just Blu-Ray that's really overpriced.

Amazon sell new discs or used or both? Best Buy will almost always have new DVD releases at around $16 to $18 bucks here in NYC. What the issue really is not so much the price, but the fact that the jump to Blu-ray from DVD wasn't that much of a leap in quality as it was from VHS to DVD. Couple that w/their prices on their flics and all the equipment costs needed to get a excellent picture and there goes your decision. For most anyway. $$$ always issue.

I have an old ide hard drive it is over 20 years old and the data is still good. IDE drives were the worst for corrupting the data.
