EU voters put pirates into parliament

A Swedish party that wants to legalise internet filesharing and beef up web privacy has scored a big victory by winning a European parliament seat, results showed.

Amazing that they got 7.1% of the vote for what is essentially a single issue party, almost as much as the Greens.

I mean, I think this whole issue has gone too far, people who download a song or two and all the sudden there's this huge war on piracy... seriously, I think 99% of the pirates aren't hurting anyone and it's that 1% that are causing the problem.

Sweden is at the same time sending war ships to Somalia to defeat pirates. I guess those guys are the 1%...
