Samsung have dropped support for 1.8" HDDs, in favour of moving towards making more SSDs. This leaves Toshiba the only company making 1.8" HDDs. This could mean a shortage of these drives for netbooks and other portable devices, although more and more of these devices are using solid state storage (hence the Samsung move).
