    LG HDTVs Now Support VUDU

LG's new HDTVs will now support a VUDU channel that will allow users of the TV to rent titles from VUDU's 15,000 strong library.

This signals two important developments in HDTV technology. One, the including of Ethernet/eireless capability into sets, which is now much more viable due to the increasing number of CE devices that require Ethernet or wireless access (Blu-ray players, for example).

Two, it also signals increased integration with online digital distribution services, such as VUDU and Netflix, in CE devices such as TVs and Blu-ray players. These are seen as adding value and features to existing TVs, while from VUDU and Netflix's point of view, it means greater penetration into the home and no longer being locked just services for computing devices.
