    Welcome back uufta.

I don't really know what would be the situation if your friend's downloading activities attract the attention of groups like the US Copyright Group. I suppose if that happens, they will send you the "pre-trial settlement" notice, so you can either pay or ask your friend to pay, assuming you can prove it was her download that caused it. It's a legal mess.

TWC says that the US Copyright Group reneged on an agreement to limit the flow of subpoenas.

TWC also complained about the way the lawsuit was filed, claiming that putting all the "John Does" in a single mass action could be invalid. Calling it "discovery abuse", TWC wants the judge to quash the subpoenas if an agreement cannot be found between TWC and the US Copyright Group.

TWC is still only providing 10 IP to subscriber name matches per month, to the anger of Larry Flynt Publishing, who is trying to sue thousands for downloading pirated porn. An attorney representing LFP, Evan Stone, sarcastically recommended TWC as the ISP of choice "If you're a pirate in these times."
