    New Adobe Flash Beta "Gala" Adds OS X H.264 Acceleration

    Soon after Apple released technical documents that paved the way for third party companies to provide GPU assisted procesing, Adobe has taken advantage and released a new beta version of Adobe Flash, named "Gala", which adds GPU assisted decoding for H.264 on Macs and MacBooks with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, GeForce 320M or GeForce GT 330M video chipsets.

    The final version of 10.1 will be released soon, in the first half of the year. While the initial final version of 10.1 won't include OS X GPU assist, an update following shortly will add in the Mac OS X GPU support features of "Gala".
