3D will help Blu-ray uptake: 20th Fox Australia

Danny Kaye, executive vice president, Global Research and Technology Strategy at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment in Australia, says that 3D will help Blu-ray uptake.

He claims that Blu-ray is still the best way to delivery 3D to the home, due to amble available disc space, and with current network technologies not up to scratch in Australia to delivery the bandwidth heavy 3D over the Internet.

And with an estimated 45% of Australian homes having 3D by 2015, the natural relationship between it and Blu-ray will help to increase Blu-ray's market share, which is currently at 10% of all discs sold in Australia.

Kaye also promoted UltraViolet, the new DRM ecosystem that allows multiple device support and interoperability from a single purchase.
