    www.vcdhelp.com Changes Name!

Formerly known as www.vcdhelp.com, they changed their name to www.dvdrhelp.com.

Seems like more and more people/websites are putting info on dvd recordable drives, its the future!

I think I wrote in the 2002 end of year review/future outlook section of the last newsletter that 2003 will be the year for DVD recording. Looks like I opened DVDR-Digest.com just in time then

Unfortunately, not everyone agrees about the future of DVD recording, like this article link that I posted on the front page of DVDR Digest :

The self-burned DVD still has a few years of glory left
The cd isn't dead yet and theyre already talking about when the dvd will die, how sad

I read in my January 2003 edition of PC WORLD that the succesor of dvd's will be a massive 27gig blue disc, pretty amazing stuff. Imagine how many high quality divx movies would fit on that baby

maybe movies on DVD will die soon (not that i believe so, but lets just assume so)... it will still be used for data storage. most games come out on DVD nowadays, especially console games. DVD has quite some years to go i think...

The Blueray technology will allow 27 gb to be stored on a single layer, that should change a lot of things.

Even now, people with HDTV would consider a DVD at best an "acceptable" source.

Well i still use CD's for back-up and video-cd's, and since theyre so cheap i have no problem using 2 or 3 for a good quality svcd.
