People who saw the matrix reloaded:

AS for the matrix reloaded, i saw it in the theatre on opening day (yesterday) and i must say, nice effects, nice story, but NOT as good as the first matrix.

The first one was all about what the matrix really was, this one is more action (no, its not a bad thing) and fighting those numerous Smith guys...

Whoever else saw it, whadya think??

Looks as tho opinions are equally divided on this subject. Guess we'll let it rest now, else we might get drawn into a long, arduous discussion on the laws of Diminishing Returns.
        Cheers

What was wrong with this one? Anyone who posted in this forum has already more than likely seen the movie so don't worry about spoiling it.

I thought the first one was better but i still really liked this one. It added cool diferent ideas to the Matrix conundrum. But what was with the orgasmic chocolate cake? lol

It still is a good movie

The first 3/4 hour is a little boring
The lines are not as polished as in the first ine (that impression might change after one sees it for the nth time)
It has quite a few 'bullit time' scenes (maybe they're not as memorable as in the first installment because the expectations were so high this time)
It's more 'sci-fi' than the first one.
At least a couple of fight scenes were there just for eye candy, no connection with the plot.
The car chase scene is HUGE (one can see the zillions of dollars spent on that one)
All in all it's worth seeing more than one time.
And it will be a nightmare to encode this one (loads of fast motion scenes)

Stay to the very end of the show, there's a trailer of 'Revolutions' after the end credits.

                    re Car Chase
Best car chase scene in recent years was in "Ronin" which was even better than the one in "The French Connection". It would need to be good to eclipse either of these.

The Matrix Reloaded cannot be expected to provide as much 'surprise' plot as the first one since its storyline lies in the middle of the trilogy, where the start and peak moments are more or less on the same level (i.e. a lot of action scenes from start, middle to the end). Still... It turns out to be a good movie (IMO) for a sequel, compared to the disappointing Star Wars II. I expect Revolution to provide a more conclusive storyline.

And I have to admit the mass fighting tended to get repetitive, messy and not impressive. The car chase and Morpheus's one-on-one fight with the agent make (far) better highlights.

And I have to admit that i for one CAN'T WAIT for matrix revolutions, only because IMHO this one wasn't too great, but hopefully it was just building up the elements for the next one
