Ok I want to become an "offical" Microsoft beta tester. I went to www.betaplace.com today (which is a branch of microsoft and their beta's) and it asked me for a Beta ID or a guest ID. Does anyone know who I need to contact to fulfill something of the sort?

You could try contacting Microsoft direct. A Msoft beta tester is normally a person with vast experience in the OS or application he or she is chosen to beta test. You will probably have to prove this and also your abilitiy tp produce coherent reports for Product Development Managers. Time to knuckle down and write a good CV.

you would have to write too much bugs to be a beta tester for MS. Try another reliable company that actually earned its name, not monopolize it.Comment

I don't care how much I have to write. I'll do it. It isn't too bad. Also do you have any other companies you would suggest I sign my dad up for lol so I can take advatage of it? hehe you had to be 18 for Microsoft. So my first name and my dad's first name are the same so I signed him up!Comment

Why don't you just lie about your age?
Not like they're asking for references and a social security number.
I'm running server 2003 actually, and really like it. Given the right tweaking you can turn it into a very stable workstation (moreso than xp/2k).
Longhorn right now is on version "windows longhorn pos beta". It flat out sucks ass. Don't even bother with the 4008/4015 builds... your time, bandwidth, and cds are better wasted on something else.
Wait for a newer, stable (non pos) version before even thinking about trying it out. In the meantime, I'd recommend upgrading to 2k3
