HA! I knew it would happen!

Well like normal I was blasting my techno..... Then all of a sudden BANG! *SMOKE ROLLS* I look at my amp (the source) and it's on fire. I yank the bitch out of my entertainment center trying not to catch anything on fire *literatly throws reciever out of 2nd story balcony and watches it burn*.. My Sony STR-920 is gone and fried by a fuse not poping.

Tomorrow I will be picking up a Sony STR-DE585... I figured it costing a wee $179.99 it isn't a bad deal. Dolby 5.1 DTS 5.1 90 watts x 8.... (Not including my Harmon Kardon dedicated Amps. Oh well 12 years and $800 out. I knew it would happen one of these days. Oh well my stero will live on by tomorrow afternoon.

SKD_Tech, bring out the marshmallows and have a weiner roast! Strange how it would go boom. You supply adequate breathing room for the unit, or did you stack your AMP with somthing on top of it? Most heating devices and transformers have "Thermal Fuse"'s. Strange how your's didn't. Most problems like that are caused by stupidity of the end-user. I installed a Fan on my AMP. This way it stays forced cool. Mind you I don't use it.. I used to crank the tunes up once early in life. Now Apartment living I am stuck with small bass.

I envy anyone who can "Feel" the music without worry of complaints.
Government throws more money at a problem, so it looks like they are making a difference.

Well I got my new amp and I installed 4 120mm fans on it and it works great. 2 3/4 more power than my last amp and it also supports:
              Dolby Digital 5.1/DTS
Sony Cinema **** that is really awesome
              Dolby Prologic/PrologicII

              It's an awesome pic

That's what I thought. I just got a kick out of the thought that someone 14 was making reference to how they got 12 good years out of anything. Not a jab, just enjoyed it.
