has anybody seen it yet?

i have just gotten the Evaluation Version of it.

Not Bad....

I see they still have that stupid bar on the right.
I thought that was killed in a couple of earlier beta's?

And I wonder if the "search" function is a way for M$ to try to kill google or if it's configurable?

Who the Heck wants a giant clock in the system tray?

Either way, you can be sure that we'll be shelling out the bux for this.

the version i have got is the alpha version. alot of bugs in it. i tried to make a new folder and it didn't work.

also about the bar on the right, you can minimze it into the taskbar.

about the clock, you can change the clock face if you want.

i don't really like the alpha version like, think i'll get some BETA versions and see what they are like.

Is there a specific date (or even month) when this Longhorn will be released?

yeah it'll probably be released in 2007. but won't be called 'Longhorn' they'll rename it, just like XP used to be called 'Whistler'

also, they might make it so to use a program such as Norton etc... you have to pay yearly to use it.

Won't be having it if they decide to do that.

I think the interface is excellent. seems they've been taking tips from sites like themexp.org and wincustomize.com and making it really sleek. i'll probably get it like a week or 2 after it comes out, depending on the reviews

I'll wait and see the reviews and have a look at a computer that has it on it. But I'm the type that is adventurous and likes to try new things.

ur pics are frm old alpha 4051, latest is like 4083 or even higher i guess as last iv tried was 4074.
first beta will comeout in 2 months time if didnt get delayed. RTM product will be in end of May 2006. again if not delayed.

i donno if ill be changing my os even in 2006 unless i get bored with xp, or new os gives me more then actually makes me bought more {new hardware requirments}.
