How cruel and barbaric - treating terrorist suspects the way they treat their victims...

I guess IMO the ppl in question could be given a prolonged interrogation before whisking thwm away. If the person is a terrorist then definitely do it. But what happens if the person is an innocent father or mother and taken from thier family for an x amount of time.

The problem with all this is that the next time some country or terrorist group does that to an American citizen, all the US government can rightly do is to say "fair enough" and move on. Even now, whenever the US points out human rights abuses in another country, the other country automatically point back to Guantanamo and the US has to sit there and silently take it.

The other problem is whether any innocent people have been treated this way, or are currently being held in Guantanamo. But even if they are all guilty as Bush claims, another problem is that this is not a secret, and so, the Muslim world knows about it and will no doubt be very angry, allowing terrorist groups will use this as the perfect recruiting tool.

I remember another claim he made about WMD and as of to date none have been found that I/we know about. The head of the CIA took the fall for that one. Who's gonna take the fall for the next one. The real culprit or some lacky/flunky to protect somebody else's ass.
