Google Earth is great. Managed to find lots of landmarks on it.

I have tried it a few days ago and it is quite amazing what can be found. It even has my local Blockbusters and fish and chip shop.

That is on there. If you seen Independence Day. It shows the big desert where all the people travel across in their mobile homes to get to Area51.

Also, impressive is St. Mount Helens. Turn on terrain and see it in 3D and look it from the the side view.

London is quite good as well. The London Eye and Tower Bridge is very detailed (not 3D though).

Used "Google Earth" Yet?

Hey everyone, there's an awesome program Google Earth that lets you view hi-res images from satellite. You can see famous landmarks such as the Eifel Tower, Grand Canyon, etc. You can also see my house!

Hey Anonymez Yeah that is a great program...in fact it was brought to my attention here last week in a previous post a few down from here...but anyways great stuff...I was able to find my house on there and I live in a city in the middle of canada with only 200,000 and there it was!

i'm surpised they got australian images

the alternative to google earth is "worldwind", which has been around for some time, and is made by NASA. I tried it, and didn't care for it...

I never got Worldwind to work satisfactorily on my machine. Google Earth refreshed a lot quicker and got better results.
