GTA 3 won't play!!!

I have just installed gta 3 but when i try to play it,it just shows the rockstar logo and it dissapears.wtf is happening?

Try changing the v-sync for Direct3D - GTA 3 shows me a blank screen when I turn it off (and if I press my cursor keys, I can still hear the menu items being selected).
