It was very hard, as the "Split" function only allows you to read the first 4 or 5 words in a reply. So some replies that started off "Off Topic" but, ended up on the topic ended up in the wrong split.

Yup, depending upon how the reply was written, splitting that many replies is a real pain in the pooper !

Actually there are many on topic posts in this thread in the off topic section.

Must have been too hard to split properly.

A split of this thread with on topic replies to the original thread and then a merge with the original would put the replies back in their reply time sequence of the original thread wouldn't it.

If a thread resides in the "Off Topic" forum how can it veer off topic when by it's very nature it has to be off topic?

It didn't start that way.

And, in any event, the thread still has a topic.

It's the same as someone posting something about CMCs in the soccer thread.

The forum is called off topic - really it is just "Other stuff". Maybe it should be renamed.
