can I assume that you have successfuly played doom3 on your pc with the original?
exactly what type of copy did you create with clone cd?
I had to go buy a new video card to ply it on my pc.

I cant vouch for the ability of clone cd to make a cd-r backup of this game, being protected by safedisc 3x. safedisc is a real B#*&! .
I can tell you it WILL play as a disc image mounted with daemon tools.
try createing a disc image with clonecd and try playing the disc image. have all emulation options selected.
If you still have trouble, when I go home tonight,I will recreate the disc image with clonecd and document the steps I took. I cant remember exactly what backup options I selected in clone cd.

ok,I re installed clone cd and went throught the process again.
I didnt do any thing special,I just selected "read to file" which creates a disc image which is a .img , .sub , .cue and a .ccd file. when mounting the image you want to select the .ccd file.
I now have to uninstall clone cd again. make sure when you uninstall clonecd, when it asks you if you want to save the registry info, you select no.
strange that the game has a problem with clone cd but not daemon tools. oh well.
it works for me it should work for you. let me know.

Hi alienfinder,
Sorry about the slow response, couldnt get into the off topic forum for some reason.
Thats strange that it crashes.
does it still work if you put the original in a cd drive?
I am thinking that for some reason, you may need to re install the game.
I think when I installed the game on my computers,I used the original, not the disc images.
I only play the game from the disc image of disc 1.
what version of clone cd did you use,I used version 5.2.6.1.
in the daemon tools options,I have 'automount','autostart' and 'taskbar icon' checked, nothing else.
in the daemon tools emulation,I have all options enabled.
Where on your hard drive are you running the disc image from? you do have the disc image as well as the cue,sub and ccd file in the same folder, with no other files?
when I click properties on the disc image file of disc 1,this is the size I get. you too?
size: 552 MB (579,640,992 bytes)
size on disk: 552 MB (579,641,344 bytes)
I cant think of anything else.
