You know I would never dream of being so closed minded of leaving my country (which I did) Come live in another country and then find myself offended by the diferent i.e. Religions, etc... just because they overwelm mine by numbers....

I think this attitude sucks... and the presures on our society by these ethnic minorities suck and they should not only get a life but wake up and smell the coffee...

The attack on Christmas and the political correctness crap assoicated with not wanting to "offend" anyone is atrocious. I want to wish everyone here that feels the same way a Very Merry Christmas! Everyone else can take their happy holidays and "holiday" trees and shove 'em.

There is nothing wrong with wishing everyone a merry Christmas. There is nothing wrong with wishing people a happy holiday. There isnt even anything wrong with reminding people to keep Christ in CHRISTmas.

But there is something wrong with telling people who may not agree with your political and/or religious views to ,in your words "take their happy holidays and "holiday" trees and shove 'em". It demonstrates an absence of respect for others opinions and rights to thier own religious and political views.

You could easily have just wished everyone a merry christmas. If anyone would have told you that you should be saying happy holidays,THAT would be atrociuos! But they arent,they wont and they wouldnt. And if,for some reason they did,I would be here defending your right to your views.

The phrase "happy holidays" is just a shortened way of saying 'happy thanksgiving,merry christmas and a happy new year' all at one time. whats wrong with that? its just a little lazy,thats all,theres no "attack". people have been saying it forever.

I do happen to agree with you that the idea of calling a christmas tree as a holiday tree is just plain silly,what other holiday besides christmas has a tree with lights on it?. But how many people do you really know who call thier tree a holiday tree? once again,it just for govt purposes. for gods sake,dont let the political pundits convince you there is some sort of "conspiracy" to "attack christmas". the only people who refer to a christmas tree as a holiday tree are the govt. But they no choice but to respect ALL religious views and keep govt and religion separate. they really have no option but to say things like that. If our govt officials used religious phrases,the govt would end up getting sued. and that means money out of all our pockets. its the price of living in a free society. And I am sure if the situatuation was reversed,and you were in the minority,you would still want your views respected.
