Very little here, probably under $2000. I buy stuff cheaply - the PC was $1000, and all I have done was add a DVD burner, new HD (both $50), some memory ($65) and a $50 video card. Now, software is different. Not sure if that counts.

My first was a Tandy 1000 SX with 2 5 1/4 floppy drives and 384 K memory for $999.00 without a moniter. It was about 8 Mhz, later added a 20 mb hd on a card for about $75, bought a $50 printer, and added 256 k of memory. A college gave me a green screen moniter for teaching employees WordPerfect. Next I bought a 20 Mhz 386 SX, with color mointer, and wide format dot matrix printer for about $1800. Bought a 486 with moniter at yard sale, and started playing with it. I also bought and still have a Commodore 64 with floppy still in the orignal box for $5, they wanted $10 but were ready to close so they took my offer as I just bought it to show what home computers use to be like. From that time on it would take a lot of caculation, because I build my own and sell it before it gets too old and build another one. I have a home network, 3 or 4 desktops and 3 laptops along with several boxes of parts. I have probably spent about $20,000 but have recovered some of it by selling my computer.

My first if you could classify it as a computer was commadore. I think I paid around $300.00 for it at Sears. Slow as mollasses but back then we didn't know what fast was.

I know I've spent 'Other'.... with my Vic-20 when they first came out, all the extras, then the Commodore-64 with the extras, then 286, 386, PI, PII, PIII, AMD then PIV and many more extras... LOL. I'm gonna have to wait awhile before going to the next gen 64 or dual core.

I hear ya Chewy! I still remember the old 8 inch floppy drives we had, which was a step up from the old cassette drives connected to the PET CBMs.

Forgot about the Vic-20. Been there Done that! Anytime something new comes out I have to have it. Already upgraded with a new build to gen 64.
