You guys must have awesome broadcasts down under. I have to agree with you on the quality of the DVD. I think my Japanese Laser Disc looks better than the DVD. Of course it doesn't have Kirsten Dunst doing the voice, but then again, I prefer the original Japanese. Did you know that the voice of Kiki and her artist friend are done by the same voice actress? Pretty impressive to handle two major roles in a movie.

I didn't think that they braodcast everything in HD.

I understand what you're saying about Mike Myers, but I guess I meant as a voice actress. I didn't even realise it was the same person until I saw the credits.

Majo no takkyubin (Kiki's Delivery Service) [I love the world it is set in], Tenku no Shiro Laputa (Castle in the Sky Laputa), Cagliostro no Shiro (Cagliostro's Castle) [A Lupin the 3rd Film], and Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke). Although not my fav because I don't like bugs, a lot of people would vouch for Nausicaa. Miyazaki is known as the Disney of Japan. Fortunately, not corrupted yet.

Oops, forgot Tonari no Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro) always a hit with the kids.
Have you seen the Japanase animation version of Metropolis?

            also Sky Blue?

It started for me with Akira, then Ghost in the Shell. I haven't seen that many and just watch ones that look interesting. I caught Metropolis on the TV and it was really good. Spirited Away was the last DVD I saw.

My all time favorite is Ginga Tetsudo 999 (Galaxy Express 999). I believe the flying train in the movie Robots is homage to GE999. The movies were great as was the TV series. Unfortunately, might be a bit hard to find subbed or dubbed.

I haven't seen Sky Blue. Hmm. A Korean Movie in the Anime style. I might have to check it out.

The first season is called Ghost in the Shell 1st Gig Complex. The second is 2nd Gig Complex.

It is available on DVD as individual volumes (4 episodes) and also as a complete season.
